Broken radiator cuts Nothdurft's WWS short
On Wednesday night at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Ariz.) for the third round of the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout, Nothdurft came three spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a sixth place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 3 into the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Blair logged a ninth-place finish.
After a scheduled off day on Thursday, Blair posted an eighth place outing in his heat on Friday, leaving him with one last shot at the preliminary feature with a B-Main. Locking in the Top 3, Nothdurft recorded a 12th-place outing.
On Saturday afternoon for the final $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Nothdurft finished eighth in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the feature, Blair fell four spots short with a seventh-place finish.
He planned on competing in the final round of the Wild West Shootout on Sunday to battle for the $25,000 top prize but a broken radiator after qualifying brought an early end to his weekend.
