Nothdurft competes in MLRA doubleheader

After a pair of rainouts left him sidelined a weekend prior, Blair Nothdurft traveled to 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) on Friday afternoon to kick off his Fourth of July weekend with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). With 25 Late Models on hand, Blair timed in fourth fastest in his group but failed to complete a lap in his heat after finding motor issues. Pulling out the secondary car for the opening night feature, Nothdurft was an early retiree from the 40-lapper with a flat right-rear tire.

The following night at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa), Nothdurft posted a third-place finish in his heat, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Fading outside the Top-10, Blair dropped six spots to finish 14th. (Mike Ruefer photo)
