February 12, 2021 - Nothdurft returns to Volusia for DIRTcar Nationals
1On Monday afternoon, Blair Nothdurft was back in action at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) to compete in a stout field of 51 Late Models for the 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals. Falling short of a transfer position in his heat with a seventh place finish, Blair transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Locking in the Top 2, Nothdurft finished sixth, bringing an early end to his night.

The following night, Nothdurft came in fifth in his heat race before streaking to a 10-lap consolation victory. Earning the 19th-starting position for the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Blair faded two spots in the 30-lap affair to register a 19th-place finish.

1On Wednesday evening as the remainder of the weekend shifted under the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series banner, Blair logged a seventh place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the show, Nothdurft recorded a 10th-place outing.

With the field reduced to 38 cars on Friday night, Blair timed in eighth fastest in his time trial group before placing seventh in his heat. With lingering electrical issues hampering his performance, Nothdurft faded back to a seventh-place finish in his B-Main.

Persistent rain overnight on Friday wiped out Saturday night’s finale.

1For the final two rounds of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Florida Speedweeks slate, Blair Nothdurft headed to Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.) on Monday night to compete on the 3/8-mile oval. Drawing 49 cars, Nothdurft posted a ninth place finish in his heat, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Locking in the Top 3, Blair fell short with an eighth-place outing. 1On Tuesday night, Blair faded back to an eighth place finish in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place third or better, Nothdurft logged a ninth-place finish.
